12 Days - From Casablanca Via Merzouga and Marrakech

Day 1 – Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes

We will visit Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, we will visit its main monument, the great mosque of Hassan II, then we will continue to Rabat, the capital of the kingdom with its monuments, the Mohammed V mausoleum, the Hassan tower and the kasbah of the Oudayas and Chellah, We will leave in the direction of Meknés where we will spend the night.

Day 2 – Meknés- Fez

In Meknés we will visit the tomb of Moulay Ismail, El Hedime square, Bab Mansour, also on the way to Fez we will visit the remains of the Roman city of Volubilis, after enjoying this enclave we will go to our accommodation in Fez.

Day 3 – Fes

We have the whole day to get to know the city of Fez, its rich architecture, the fascinating medina, as well as a large number of historical monuments, all of which make it the cultural city of Morocco. The Medina of Fez, the great attraction of Fez, is made up of two separate cities: Fez el Bali and Fez el Djedid. Fez el Jedid is the new Fez, built by the Merenides in the 13th century. Most of the area was occupied by a royal palace, one of the most sumptuous palace complexes in Morocco, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Unfortunately, access to the Palace is now restricted to special guests. Fez el Bali is the old Fez, a maze of alleyways and dead ends, dominated by a vast compound of souks, gardens and royal palaces. This is the area where we will spend most of the time to explore and get to know the Imperial city of Fez.

Day 4 – Fez-Ifrane-Azrou-Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga

We will leave Fez after breakfast and cross the Middle Atlas through the town of Ifran, the African Switzerland, so called due to the combination of its western architecture and its cedar forests. We will stop to see the monkeys that inhabit the area of Azrou, Midelt and we will also visit the Tafilalet palm grove. We will continue our journey towards the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi, the expected arrival is at 3 in the afternoon. Then, mounted on dromedaries, we will head towards the dunes to see the sunset, and we will sleep in a wild oasis located two hours away on the back of our dromedaries, in the middle of the desert.

Day 5 – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

After breakfast we will take a short walk through the wonderful Dades canyons, we will take the vehicle again to go through the impressive Todra Gorge towards Merzouga, the genuine Sahara with its Dune of more than 250 meters high, one of the most big, at the foot of the dunes we will stay that night.

Day 6 – Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

After breakfast we will start our route to the Dades gorges. But before all that we are going to cross Rissani and its authentic market, then to the Toudgha gorges where we are going to stop for 30 minutes or so to enjoy this beautiful landscape and for a short trekking. We continue our way to the fingers of the monkeys in the mountains of the dades gorges where we will spend the night in the hotel / riad

Day 7 – Dades Gorges – ouarzazate – ait benhadou – Marrakech

After breakfast we will start our tour to Marrakech. This path full of sites is worth visiting and discovering. Let’s start from Ouarzazate and its cinema museum then to the kasbah ait benhadou, a famous kasbah where the caravans stop in the past and they have made many movies there too as a gladiator for example. We continue our way and this time crossing the high atlas (Tizint Tichka) 2262 m in height we will arrive in Marrakech.

Day 8 – Marrakech Tour

We start the day with our guide to explore Marrakech. In the morning visit the city in which the Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the impressive Koutoubia Mosque with its famous minaret built by the Almohads stand out. Free time for lunch, free afternoon to enjoy the charm of the Jamaa El Fna square.

Day 9 – Marrakech – Ourika Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast we go to ourika, it is one of the most popular excursions that are made from Marrakech there, the Ourika River runs through the High Atlas creating wonderful landscapes to admire, where hills, waterfalls and towns are part of this unique and cultural attraction.

The region is inhabited by Berbers who practice a traditional way of life, and who show tourists their way of life, their customs and their peculiarities.

Despite the fact that this place is close to the city of Marrakech, it is one of the most virgin valleys in all of Morocco. It is a labyrinth of exuberant vegetation. In the afternoon we will return to our hotel/riad in Marrakech.

Day 10 – Marrakech – Essaouira

We will leave from Marrakech to Essaouira. The city appears on a large rocky peninsula, with its white walls

It includes

  • Transfers to the airport in and out.
  • Accommodations in half board (dinner and breakfast) except in Marrakech (breakfast only).
  • 1 Night in haimas (Berber camp) in the middle of the desert, half board
